This week was the last week! It started with my partner and I coming into uni to print all my zine pages (including the extra cookie recipe page) with the help of Rae and her office printer. I also printed a bunch of “stickers” (little paper squares with hearts on them) which I wanted to embellish the zine with. I used the guillotine to cut the pages out and neatened them up with a craft knife and ruler. I then arranged them all and sewed them together. I liked sewing the pages together because it looked really pretty and suited the handmade nature of the zine. With strips of baking paper, I wrapped the zines and cookie recipe together. I used double-sided tape to stick the heart stickers on top to finish it all off.

I finished all the zines probably 10 minutes before class started which was pretty lucky. My mother-in-law also came and said hi before she went to her Italian class! She liked her copy of the zine 😊

I liked how my zine turned out very much! I think it’s pretty and well put together. It’s a really cute size too. Ideally I would like to sell my zine online. I think it would sell well!

I had fun at the zine event. Everyone had really interesting zines and it’s fun how many different concepts we all came up with for the same assignment. I’m glad I got copies of everyone’s zine and am also glad I got to print mine for free.

I really loved this class this semester! It was my favourite. Rae has been a really great teacher. Congratulations to her for getting her doctorate! I’m sad I can’t have her as a teacher again in the future. Everyone in the class was really nice and I hope the course I do next semester is as fun as this class. I plan on expanding my skillset as a graphic designer in the future.

I look forward to the break, and by break I mean the mental breakdown I’m going to have after this semester finishes 😊
